EthOss® — Next-Generation Synthetic Bone Graft in the MDS Portfolio

Published

MDS expands its portfolio of solutions for surgical dentistry and implantology — EthOss®, a modern synthetic bone graft for predictable bone regeneration, is now available.

EthOss® is used for filling, augmentation, and reconstruction of bone defects in the maxillofacial area. The material is effectively applied in:

  • intrabony defects
  • alveolar ridge augmentation
  • socket preservation after tooth extraction
  • implant site preparation

What Makes EthOss® Different

The key distinction of EthOss® is the combination of β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and calcium sulfate.

This combination provides:

  • controlled consistency during placement
  • graft stability without additional fixation
  • formation of a stable structure within approximately one hour
  • the possibility to work without a membrane

After placement, the material gradually resorbs and is replaced by natural bone tissue, creating favorable conditions for osteogenesis.

Practical Value for Clinicians

EthOss® simplifies bone augmentation protocols:

  • minimizes the need for additional materials
  • reduces surgical time
  • ensures stability in the defect area
  • allows predictable healing

The material demonstrates ease of handling and controlled clinical performance.
